Behind The Bar For September 2014

Bulleit Bourbon Frontier WhiskeyI love beer. Love it. And whiskey. Cause whiskey is awesome.  Hell, come to think of it, I’m a big fan of most liquid libations. I started a project last year where I kept track of  the amount and frequency of my drinking.  I’m calling that project “Behind The Bar”. This post will be updated during the month of September 2014 as I have a night out or a cocktail at home.  Stay tuned!

  1. The Winking Lizard (Bedford) / Rick’s Cafe – 9.3.2014
    Ueriga Sticke / Margarita
    Stopped by the Lizard on the way home to see if I could find my missing tour card (no dice). Dropped off a mattress out at Mom & Dad’s and then met A, boys & in-laws at Rick’s Cafe in Chagrin. It was $4 margarita night so I partook. Meh.
  2. Canal Park – 9.4.2014
    Yuengling x 2
    Took the kids to Akron to see the Rubber Ducks play in a playoff game. On top of very affordable tickets ($34 for the family) it was dollar beer / pop night.  Win. instagram.com/p/sk6rT3uxvW
  3. Giant Eagle Market District – 9.6.2014
    Bell’s Oktoberfest x 2
    Took the kids to Giant Eagle for movie night / dinner. Great deal as they get to watch a movie and we get free babysitting!
  4. Home Sweet Home – 9.7.2014
    Beer / Whiskey
    Had a couple of beers while watching the first Brown’s game of the season (a loss to the Steelers).  Had a Left Hand Sawtooth Ale and a Goose Island Oktoberfest. The Bucks are moving so they stopped over in the evening for some s’mores by the fire… and I finished off my Woodford Reserve.
  5. The Winking Lizard – 9.10.2014
    Beer
    Had plans to go to the Tribe game but all hell broke loose weather wise so we ended up taking our monthly Annex Tweet Up night at the Lizard. Had several craft beers.  Only 2 left on this year’s tour!
  6. Abuelo’s – 9.13.2014
    Dos Equis
    Went to a late dinner at Abuelo’s. Kids were being a piece of work… beer was needed.  But just one.  I showed contraint.
  7. Home Sweet Home – 9.14.2014
    Miller Lite
    Did steak / salmon on the grill. A single Miller Lite was really all I needed.
  8. Whirlyball / Lizardville – 9.17.2014
    Great Lakes Octoberfest / Whiskey
    Super random day. Started the day in the ER with irregular heartbeat. Ended 8 hours later sitting at a bar stool after a team outing to Whirlyball.  Very weird.
  9. SCEPTA Parent Event – 9.20.2014
    Beer
    Went to a SCEPTA parent’s event. Was a BEAUTIFUL evening and we were outside playing Win, Lose Or Draw and Cornhole.  A couple of beers that I had left over in the fridge.
  10. Marko’s – 9.21.2014
    Liquid Hero Hero Weizen
    Went to Marko’s to have dinner (we had to get out as we had a showing) and to watch WWE Night Of Champions.  Ever since I got the WWE Network I’ve been watching most of the PPVs and it’s nice to get together with them at least once a month.

    Left Hand Brewing Milk Stout Nitro / Yuengling Light
    Had plans to go out with Brad to celebrate his 6 years but he backed out. Then had plans to go to the Tribe game. Went to the Lizard to grab a bite before game, had 2 beers and then Wife called me to come home for a house showing.

    Went to dinner with Wife before a planned ballet evening. #3 was being a pistol so we ended up going home after a SOS call from the folks.
  13. Magnes Clam Bake – 9.27.2014
    Goose Island Octoberfest / Great Lakes Octoberfest
    Clam bake at the neighbors. In the midst of this, we got an offer on our house so we’re under contract!

    Perfect Manhattan / Jack Daniel’s rocks
    Went over to M&M’s for a gender reveal party for their baby (It’s a boy!)
  15. Burger 2 Beer – 9.30.2014
    Golden Mullet x 2
    Saw a sneak peak of Annabelle my buddy Scott and his friend.  Stopped by Burger 2 Beer for a couple of beers / wings.
