Whiskey On The RocksI love beer. Love it.

And whiskey. Cause whiskey is awesome.

I started a project last year where I kept track of  the amount and frequency of my drinking.  I’m calling that project “Behind The Bar”.

This post will be updated during the month of March 2014 as I have a night out or a cocktail at home.  Stay tuned!

  1. Johnny’s Downtown – 3.1.2014
    Jack Daniels’s / White Wine
    Went to Johnny’s Downtown for Cleveland Restaurant week.  With wife preggo I got a glass of white for her to take a couple of sips of.  Followed that up with a JD with dinner.  Absolutely terrible meal though.  The scallop salad included a bed of spinache with 1 scallop sliced on top.  I ordered the “Braised Short Ribs with Gnoche”.  When it came I honestly thought they’d forgotten the short ribs.  MAYBE had an ounce of shredded meat.  What I got was awesome… but we won’t be going back to Johnny’s.  Fail.
  2. Winking Lizard (Macedonia) / The Annex – 3.6.2014
    Beer
    Stopped by the Lizard in Macedonia for dinner and to knock a few off the tour.  After that, headed up the Annex to celebrate the life of KJ who passed away 2 years ago on 3.6.2012.  RIP sir.
  3. Bongiorno’s Ristorante – 3.7.2014

    Went out to dinner with the family and had my old stand by… JD on the rocks with olives.  That was (of course) after I first got the incorrect Jack and Diet Coke (Who the fuck orders THAT by the way?)
  4. Birthday Party / The Rusty Bucket Solon – 3.9.2014
    Miller Lite / Great Lakes Conways Irish Ale
    The day started out with Luca’s (counsin Erin’s son) 1st birthday part at their house.  A couple of Miller Lite’s helped ease the pain of a birtday party with 15 kids under the age of 9 running around. That evening was a cousin’s dinner that Larry planned at the Rusty Bucket in Solon.  Conways on tap is glorious.
  5. Winking Lizard (Bedford) – 3.13.2014

    Moved our regular monthly tweetup from the Annex on Wednesday to the Lizard on Thursday so Brad and I could knock out a few tour beers.  There’s always shots going on but plenty of water as well.
  6. Bravo! Cucina Italiana – 3.18.2014

    Amanda and I had a meeting with a banker to discuss potential home loans.  Getting a loan without selling our house is proving difficult, but it was a positive meeting.  Went to Bravo for dinner sans kiddos and I had drink (or two) to celebrate some adult time.
  7. Home Sweet Home – 3.19.2014
    Perfect Manhattan (small)
    Wife out tonight at her class and it just seemed like a good idea at the time.  Just a tiny halfsie. Yummy in my tummy.
  8. Market District Giant Eagle – 3.21.2014
    Wine /  Magic Hat Dream Machine
    Giant Eagle had a wine / food pairing evening.  $6 per person for 6 samples.  While it didn’t fill us up it was a great little night out with free babysitting (kids went to the Eagle’s Nest).  The fact that A is preggo got us a few looks but it was pretty hilarious.  She had maybe 3 samples and gave me the rest.  Afterword we grabbed a light snack and I paired that with a Dream Machine draft.
  9. Home Sweet Home – 3.23.2014
    Yuengling 
    Had a family birthday party for C.  We asked him what he wanted on the menu and he responded with “corn dogs and chips”.  A knocked out a ridiculous Lego cake and I had a few glorious lagers.
  10. Winking Lizard (Bedford) – 3.27.2014
    Beer
    Had a couple of buddies in town so it was a perfect night for a couple of brews at the Lizard to work on the World Tour.  Benji and Steve from high school were both randomly in town on a Thursday night.  Perfect!
  11. Winking Lizard (Bedford) – 3.31.2014

    Stopped by the Lizard on the way home from a screening of Pro Wrestlers vs. Zombies which was outstanding!  Got to meet Hacksaw Jim Duggan, The Franchise Shane Douglas and the director of the flick Cody Knotts.  Too cool!  Also got to half way on the Tour tonight.
