Whiskey By The CampfireI love beer. Love it.

And whiskey. Cause whiskey is awesome.

I started a project last year where I kept track of  the amount and frequency of my drinking.  I’m calling that project “Behind The Bar”.

This post will be updated during the month of May 2014 as I have a night out or a cocktail at home.  Stay tuned!

  1. Chagrin Valley Country Club – 5.1.2014
    Jack Daniel’s x 2
    Went to the Club for the kickoff to summer sports.  Brief presentation by Wally for swimming, Mike for golf and the tennis pro.  Not great service for the pasta bar and took forever to get a drink.  But I did… twice 🙂
  2. Home Sweet Home – 5.8.2014
    Walkabout Pale Ale / Leinenkugel Oktoberfest
    First drink post Mr. Link. Getting dinner ready at home and popped a Walkabout courtesy Mr. Matt and followed that up with a Leiny I found in the back of the fridge.
  3. Home Sweet Home – 5.10.2014
    Great Lakes Christmas Ale / Miller Lite
    Asked the boys to grab me a beer for dinner and lo and behold they managed to find what I THINK is my last Christmas Ale in the back of the fridge.

    Gentleman Jack / Perfect Manhattans
    Mother’s Day was tremendous this year as we’ve recently added 2 new members to our family. Niece Madilynn was born on 4/27 and Link Leo came a week later on 5/4.  No babies on this Sunday, but it was an awesome celebration nonetheless.

    Cleveland Whiskey
    Nothing to it other than a nice 2 finger pour after dinner. Cleveland Whiskey is not as “sweet” as my typical Jack Daniel’s or Gentleman Jack as a sippin whiskey but it’s still lovely.

    Amanda had a glass of wine with dinner… I had whiskey.

    Put a flank steak and some salmon on the grill on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.  Had a few beers with dinner and finished off the night watching Harry Potter with the boys and my buddy Jack Daniel’s.
  8. Cleveland Gladiators’s Game – 5.23.2014
    Miller Lite
    Got free tickets from Kent to see the game on Friday evening.  Left L at home and went to the game with G & C.  Simpy HAD to have a beer… right?
  9. Chagrin Falls High School – Balloons – 5.24.2014
    Miller Lite
    Went to the annual Blossom Time carnival in Chagrin and then went to the high school to see the hot air balloons take off.  Brought some ice cold Miller Lite for Dad and myself to enjoy.
  10. Chloe’s First Communion Party / Home – 5.25.2014
    Homemade wine / Miller Lite
    Went to the 1st communion party for my Goddaughter Chloe.  Her grandfather had made some wine that he brought so naturally I had a few of those (knock you on your ass, but good).  In the evening we had hot dogs and s’mores on the fire… with beer.
  11. In-Laws’ Place – 5.26.2014
    Miller Lite / Gentleman Jack
    Went to the in-laws for a Memorial Day cookout.  Started with 2 nice cold Miller Lite and had a Gentleman Jack with dinner.
  12. Winking Lizard Bedford – 5.28.2014
    Brewdog Punk IPA, Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA
    Stopped randomly at the Lizard for lunch. Knocked a couple off the tour.
  13. Winking Lizard Avon – 5.29.2014
    Beer
    Went to see Deliver Us From Evil. (GREAT flick… can’t blog about it until opening week July 2nd).  Scott (Trapjaw) and I went to the Lizard afterwards for dinner / drinks. When I walked in, Real American was playing. Win.
  14. Glenmeadow Park – 5.30.2014
    Jack Daniel’s
    G had a late start little league game under the lights (started at 8:30).  I took my flask so my buddy Jack Daniel’s could keep me company while we watched the game.
