228.5 – The First Day Of The Digest Diet
So the wife and I are starting the Digest Diet today. Honestly I’m not really sure how we’ve come to this point. Amanda swears that it was my idea, and I suppose there was a part of me that was interested in trying it. That said, I’m a firm believer in sticking with stuff that’s worked for me in the past and the ONLY “diet” that I’ve had much success with is a low-carb version. I even devised a little “program” of my own that I call NCBBT200:
- N – No
- C – Carbs
- B – But
- B – Beer
- T – Till
- 200 – 200 lbs.
You see… I’m a big beer fan. Love the stuff. And while I don’t drink a TON of it, I’d say I probably drink 3-4 per week and I don’t know that I’ll ever give it up. I figured going on a low carb diet that still allowed me to drink my few beers per week would be a great option. Sure I wouldn’t be losing weight nearly as quickly as if I cut out the beer completely, but I’d still be losing.
If I’m honest with myself, I’d probably lose about 20 lbs if I could just cut out my beer… like I said… not gonna happen.
But all of this NCBBT200 is going to be put on hold cause Amanda has got it in her head that we’re doing this diet.
So… last night, she made the first batch of stuff which consisted of a shake for breakfast, a snack of lettuce & cheese and soup. I have to say the the shake really wasn’t all that bad other than the fact that it was just too thick. I let it melt a bit on the way to work and I actually did enjoy it.
I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the lettuce/cheese snack mid morning. I really didn’t feel hungry, but it really hit the spot. The soup that she made was pretty good as well. Honestly I was lazy and didn’t feel like heating it up so I just ate it at room temperature. I think I’m going to have another shake for dinner if I feel up to eating anything. I’m battling a sinus infection which completely sucks. Fail.
