265.5 – What I’m Doing Isn’t Working
In my last post I laid out the Two Week Challenge (268.5 – DAY 1 OF A TWO WEEK JOURNEY) that I’d put in front of myself – all carnivore for two weeks and no alcohol. Sadly, I failed miserably at that challenge. While I’ve been pretty good when it comes to eating, I’ve not been pure carnivore. Where I’ve really missed is on the alcohol. I’m pretty sure I’ve drank every night of this challenge… maybe I skipped a day.
This morning I woke up and felt like shit. Everything is hurting. Knees, toes, etc. I had a couple of beers and two bourbons last night. Now I’m questioning everything about how I’m eating, etc. I’ve read a ton of research about a VEGAN diet and I keep coming back to it. Yes, I know it’s crazy to be deciding between going CARNIVORE and VEGAN. But the carnivore thing just doesn’t seem to be working for me… granted I’m still drinking alcohol.
I’m having a really hard time with this. I refuse to believe that I’m an alcoholic, But I spose the fact that I just typed that sentence in and of itself may say something. Even as I sit here and write this blog post I’m sipping on my second whiskey of the night.
Back to vegan… I’ve read the book Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease by Caldwell Esselstyn a couple of times now. It’s a very compelling read. If you’re not familiar with him he’s one of the doctors featured in the documentary Forks Over Knives.
Something’s got to give… sadly I just purchased a TON of meat last week. I’d hate to waste it.
