Another Day One – 242.5

This Is Day One

Well, the title of this post isn’t entirely accurate as this is ‘technically’ day two for me on this new plan. That being said, I’m back here, again, writing one of these posts where I feel like I’m starting over.

Last week was crazy for me where I was out of the house every week. Follow that up with a weekend seeing out of town friends and it was no shock to me that I woke up Monday feeling heavier than I ever have. I actually didn’t get on the scale Monday so Tuesday was what I’ll call ‘Day One’ on this journey and I weighed in at 243.5.

This morning I was 242.5 so I’m down a pound which I’ve got to think is a good thing.

So… what’s the plan this time? Well, it revolves around cutting out fast food.

For the longest time I’ve been running under the illusion that if I was eating ‘low carb’ or ‘keto’ I could continue to eat fast food… you know, as long as I wasn’t eating the bun or fries. If you look back through my history here on the site, you’ll know that’s just not the case. So I’m cutting it out.

I’ve come to the realization that I don’t REALLY eat all that bad at home. My wife is slim and doesn’t prepare garbage. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth so that’s not my issue either. It comes down to really three things for me:

  1. Fast food
  2. Activity / exercise
  3. Booze / beer

I’m cutting out #1. I’m trying to get to 10,000 steps per day as a first step on #2. I’m going to have to work on #3.

Starting in August I’m going to bring back the Behind The Bar series which helps me keep track of what I’m drinking. If I get crazy I may take a peak at my calendar and see if I can piece back together one for July as well.

If you’re reading this, thanks for tuning in. I promise to be a better blogger.

Stick with me. I’m on the road to 200 (hopefully).
