237.5 – My First Week Without Afrin
It’s been a hell of a week. Actually, it’s been 11 days since my last puff of Afrin as of this writing. I’d started the draft a few days ago and never got around to it as I’ve fallen deathly ill. Well… maybe that’s an exaggeration let me tell you… having strep throat at 40 years old sucks. Big time.
Back to the title of this post. My first week off Afrin in several YEARS was a tough one, but something that needed to be done and I couldn’t be prouder of myself. It’s simply amazing that such a product can be on the market. When I went to the doctor for my strep he said it should be pulled off the shelves. Sure, it’s got a warning on it that you shouldn’t use it for more than three days but that’s not good enough. People get addicted to it so easily it’s not even funny… I’m living proof.
Well now that I’ve got that behind me, I’m tackling other heath issues. I’ve got to get the strep done (it’s a doozy) but I AM doing really well on my weight. Since the time I started this post I’m down three lbs to 234.5 which I’m thrilled with. Sure, I’ve been home for those three days but even here I’ve been eating well and staying away from snacks.
My blood pressure and weight are a huge issue. This is the time to take action. Afrin is out of my life… now it’s time continue the momentum and get healthy!
